For all the new guys, watch this video to give you an overview of the rules Hi guys, The 2008 season is just around the corner and I am extremely looking for to it, its shaping up to be a huge & exciting year for the club. With the touch league now 3 rounds old and working on your fitness and skills I already see improvement from last year already, add that to a lot of new talent coming into the club with guys like Aaron May (New Zealand) Joel (Kenya) and with the local talent of EJ & Rob just to name a few the club is already a lot stronger. Also on the way is Sean Holmes (Australia) and all going well 2 guys form the Castaway Wanders Club from Victoria, the return of Cory Tran (self exile) and Clint Senko (injury) and the continued development of our exciting high school guys (e.g. Greg Landry, Paul Mantyka, Devon Adams, Joe Moser & Roland Malan ) will all add further strength. Losses were low with Pale Tauti staying put in Hong Kong and the great one Doug Hepp deciding to remain in Victoria. Question marks remain on the wear a bout’s of our Mexican friend Crone???? Last season I took a more relaxed role as I would normally coach and didn't really demand to much as I was letting you guys get settled into me as a coach and also I was seeing how you responded as a team by yourselves. This season I attend on stepping everything up a notch to make sure we achieve our goals of winning provincial and I need your support on this. My goal this year is for the Div 1 side to win provincial, anything else would be a failure as I have high hopes for this year’s team. Div 2 goal is to win city. I also would like to increase numbers which is going well so far to the point where we can field 2 separate teams, I want to create a real competition for place's in the Div 1 side as I believe the one of the best ways to improve your game is to have to fight and earn your spot. This will hopefully make people come to training 100% of the time or near to it which will only improve the team’s performance. To help with leadership and these goals I have recruited the following people. Assistant Coach: Aaron Baier (while he is out Injured) Captain; Brennan Marcoux Vice Captains: Rob Soulodre, Dave Wilson & Johnny Mapletoft. I will be setting a few team rule which I will have out next week which I except you all to follow. Don’t forget training starts this Monday night at Lions Arena 6:30pm, Very important you are all there as I have important announcement to make. Cheers, Mike |
